Biela Noc / White Night is an international contemporary art festival that connects art and public space. It offers visitors a powerful visual experience on current social topics and offers space for reflection and dialogue. We are happy that the Faculty of Architecture and Design of STU is once again part of this event.
FAD STU and UNESCO Chair for Restoration of Architectural Heritage are jointly following up on the previous 12 editions of the multidisciplinary workshop for students – the Autumn University of Architecture in Banská Štiavnica, Slovakia; October 8 – 15, 2023.
Students of the 5th year of FAD STU in Bratislava Samuel Andrejčák, Jakub Čerešník and Lukáš Bím won the Buildner Student Award for their Elderly oasis project in the international Buildner competition.
The international jury, composed of recognized experts in individual areas of product design, spent two demanding days in Hurbanové kasárne (Hurban Barracks) evaluating and assessing 79 works in 8 categories of product design and selected those from which we will recognize the laureates in the fall. Each work was carefully assessed according to important criteria such as originality, aesthetics, functionality, technical maturity and sustainability.
This multi-genre platform provides the public with an insight into what is happening at the largest faculty in Slovakia, which provides education in the fields of architecture and design.

Short three-minute presentations of doctoral research carried out at our faculty, which are intended not only for our students, doctoral students, teachers and researchers, but also for the general professional and lay public.
During the Milan Design Week festival, you can experience the SENSBIOM II installation in Alcova Milano, which is the result of the interdisciplinary collaboration of the crafting plastics studio! and the American research facility DumoLab from Penn’s Weitzman School of Design in Pennsylvania.
Learning and Teaching Training took place as another of the events of the CT:uni: Creative project Thinking – Taking an Innovative and STEAM Approach for a Transdisciplinary University (ERASMUS+, KA2 – Cooperative partnerships).
Join the Workshop for talented architecture students and graduates: our partner offered us the opportunity to participate in an additional qualification in the form of a 3,5-week workshop at aac in Hamburg.
The Dean of FAD STU announces the start of the admission procedure for study for the academic year 2023/2024 for accredited study fields in the English language.

How can we plan our cities more efficiently and effectively? A new collaboration project between the STU Faculty of Architecture and Design, and the University of Stavanger, Norway, explores the sustainability of cities and communities. The consequences of climate change are rapidly approaching us than what previous predictions have warned us about.
Our studios from the Belluš school were successful once again! The team consisting of Milan Andráš, Dušan Kočlík, Pavel Nahálka and Adam Tóth received an honorable mention in the prestigious international competition International Design Award IDA 22.
One of the priorities of the FAD leadership is building new international partnerships, expanding the range of foreign universities with which our faculty could collaborate on international scientific research projects or participate in pedagogical activities. That is why the FAD dean visited the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in Mexico from 21/11/2022 to 25/11/2022.
FAD STU a Partner among the consortium of 8 European universities to explore interdisciplinarity in education. The project CT.uni: Creative project Thinking – Taking an Innovative and STEAM Approach for a Transdisciplinary University (ERASMUS+, KA2 – Cooperative partnerships) will start on 2 May 2022.
The Fenix prize awarded for an extraordinary act of preserving a national cultural monument goes to the Utility building of the Castle Uhrovec. The award was given for a highly professional approach to rescue, rehabilitatate and make accessible the castle ruins, especially the utility building.
