The Dean of FAD STU announces the start of the admission procedure for study for the academic year 2024/2025 for accredited study fields in the English language.
Support for Ukraine and its people
The STU Faculty of Architecture and Design joins the voices calling for an end to Russian aggression, halting the violence and an immediate return to diplomacy. We do not wish for our students to be educated in an atmosphere of unrest, and crisis of the basic human values that go hand-in-hand with war. We believe that conflicts will not expand to the academic environment and will not affect the academic rights and freedoms of students at our faculty, regardless of their nationality.
In this difficult situation, the faculty management is in contact with our Ukrainian students, and we strive to help them. Together with the STU management, we are looking for opportunities for financial support and are also addressing you: employees and students of our faculty, so that you – if you can – get involved in one of the ongoing fund-raising campaigns, for example through any of these non-profit organizations:
Enrolled / current students: STU measures in a crisis situation related to the war in Ukraine
Based on the summarized requirements and needs of the students affected by the military conflict in Ukraine the STU crisis team took several precautions at its meeting on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.
Enrolled / current students: STU has set up a transparent account to help students from war-affected areas
The Slovak University of Technology continues its activities to help its students from war-affected areas in Ukraine. STU has set up a transparent bank account to provide emergency assistance, to cover the basic needs as well as to support their study.
The purpose of the account is to accumulate funds that will be used to provide emergency assistance, to cover the basic needs of STU students affected by the war in Ukraine, i.e.to cover the board, accommodation, to support study and study-related activities. The account is not intended to provide direct financial support.
Applicants for contributions from this account can be current STU students from war-affected areas in Ukraine, who are in Slovakia or are relocating to Slovakia, who are in distress and need help to cover the costs related to basic necessities of life and their study.
It is possible to contribute any amount to a transparent account number:
Funds from the account are intended to provide:
The amount of the support granted from the transparent account will be decided by the STU Transparent Account Council composed of: STU Vice-Rector Ján Híveš, Quaestor Rastislav Igliar, SVF Vice-Dean Katarína Gajdošová, FCFT Vice-Dean Milena Reháková, Milan Husár from IM and a representative of students. The supervision will be provided by STU vice-rectors Maximilián Strémy and Mikuláš Bittera.
The details of the process of applying assistance from a transparent account will be further communicated.
Data on the status of the transparent account are accessible.
STU students can apply for an allowance from a transparent account by sending a scan of the completed and signed form to the e-mail address STUpreUkrajinu@stuba.sk.

Students coming from Ukraine
Due to the fact that the semester has already started and the incoming students have problems with the Slovak language, the whole STU has decided that the beginning of the study will be possible only from September 2022.
However, we can now offer and enable participation in some of the first-year subjects. These subjects will not be classified, it is more a matter of students getting acquainted with Slovak colleagues, being able to improve their Slovak language and try out the teaching system.
In case of interest, it is necessary to write an application: which university you have studied at, what programme you have studied and state your interest in the specific study programme in which you want to participate during the summer semester 2021/22. You also have to provide your name, address, date of birth, e-mail and telephone contact.
You can later request a transfer to our faculty (no later than the beginning of September).
When transferring, you must state the reason why you want to study at our FAD STU, the name of the university you are transferring from.
The application includes the following documents (subject to legislation which is currently valid, however it is about to be modified):
Later on arrival, it will be necessary to present the nostrification of the graduation certificate.
After the transfer, it is possible to pre-list the courses and marks of courses already completed at the original university and you can apply for recognition of these courses.
