The KA2 Erasmus+ CT.Uni: Creative Thinking Taking an Innovative and STEAM Approach for a Transdisciplinary University project was playing an important role within a series of conferences, seminars, workshops held in June 2024 in Bratislava.

For the twenty-third time, the Night of Architecture and Design will take place at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of STU at 19 Liberty Square in Bratislava. The gates of the faculty will open to the public on Thursday, 20 June 2023 at 16.00.

The Faculty of Architecture and Design of STU in Bratislava has achieved a great success. We have been ranked 5th among the TOP 100 best architecture and engineering universities in the world thanks to our success in the INSPIRELI AWARDS competition, which involved students of our faculty.

The project was nominated for a Grand Prix award from the international jury, in the category of public/open space and landscape. The winning design comes from the invited architectural competition – BOGÁR architects and ER atelier.

3.5 weeks of intensive work with young students from all over the world on an exciting architectural design project, curated
by renowned architects at Academy for Architectural Culture, Hamburg, Germany.

The theme of the XIX edition of the Saint – Gobain Architecture Student Contest 2024, an international anonymous student architecture competition launched by Saint – Gobain’s Isover, Rigips and Weber brands, was the design of a residential zone for students and researchers in an area close to the Viikki University campus, located northeast of Helsinki.

Brian Ian Muir is one of the most respected sculptors and artists in the film industry. He began his 48+ year career at the age of 16 in 1968 at Elstree Film Studios, where he spent the next 4 years apprenticing as a sculptor and model maker.

With the exhibition project DESIGN × SCIENCE, the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava presents a new platform for dialogue between design research and science. During Milan Design Week, the We Will Design 2024 exhibition will be held at the BASE Milano Experimental Laboratory from 16 – 21 April 2024.

The Faculty of Architecture and Design is presenting its projects at the international event UNFOLD during the Milan Design Week at the BASE Milano cultural centre, 15 – 21 April 2024. The projects of the vertical studio Data[LAB] are concerned with the concept of the object, which presents objects as dynamic processes, constantly changing and adapting to their surroundings.

The Dean of FAD STU announces the start of the admission procedure for study for the academic year 2024/2025 for accredited study fields in the English language.

On 18 and 19 March 2024, a training activity on innovation, STEAM and transdiciplinary approach in teaching took place at the Faculty of Business of the University of Economics. Learning and Teaching Training (LTT event) within the Erasmus+ project CT.Uni: Creative Thinking – Taking an Innovative and STEAM Approach for a Transdisciplinary University was held under the leadership of Veronika Orfánusová (EUBA) and Zuzana Turlíková (STU).

Under the joint patronage of the Faculty of Architecture and Design at Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, Bratislava, Slovakia; in collaboration with the Faculty of Architecture at Cracow University of Technology, Kraków, Poland; the Faculty of Architecture at Gdańsk University of Technology, Gdańsk, Poland; the Faculty of Architecture at Wrocław University of Science and Technology Wrocław, Poland; and the World Institute for Engineering and Technology Education (WIETE), these institutions organise jointly the 2024 Conference on Engineering and Architecture Design Education (EADE-2024) to take place at Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, Bratislava, Slovakia, between 10 and 12 June 2024.

On the occasion of the partner visit to Slovakia, on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., at FEI STU (hall CD-150), Andreas Mershin will give a public lecture on the topic „Academia to Entrepreneurship (Lab to Market) and Beyond“.

The second visit of STU employees took place at the University of Iceland in Reykjavik in late November 2023. FAD in Iceland was represented by Vice-Dean for Foreign Relations and PR Klára Macháčová and Faculty Coordinator Erasmus+ Mária Páleníková.

Biela Noc / White Night is an international contemporary art festival that connects art and public space. It offers visitors a powerful visual experience on current social topics and offers space for reflection and dialogue. We are happy that the Faculty of Architecture and Design of STU is once again part of this event.

FAD STU and UNESCO Chair for Restoration of Architectural Heritage are jointly following up on the previous 12 editions of the multidisciplinary workshop for students – the Autumn University of Architecture in Banská Štiavnica, Slovakia; October 8 – 15, 2023.

Students of the 5th year of FAD STU in Bratislava Samuel Andrejčák, Jakub Čerešník and Lukáš Bím won the Buildner Student Award for their Elderly oasis project in the international Buildner competition.

The international jury, composed of recognized experts in individual areas of product design, spent two demanding days in Hurbanové kasárne (Hurban Barracks) evaluating and assessing 79 works in 8 categories of product design and selected those from which we will recognize the laureates in the fall. Each work was carefully assessed according to important criteria such as originality, aesthetics, functionality, technical maturity and sustainability.

This multi-genre platform provides the public with an insight into what is happening at the largest faculty in Slovakia, which provides education in the fields of architecture and design.

Short three-minute presentations of doctoral research carried out at our faculty, which are intended not only for our students, doctoral students, teachers and researchers, but also for the general professional and lay public.

During the Milan Design Week festival, you can experience the SENSBIOM II installation in Alcova Milano, which is the result of the interdisciplinary collaboration of the crafting plastics studio! and the American research facility DumoLab from Penn’s Weitzman School of Design in Pennsylvania.

Our studios from the Belluš school were successful once again! The team consisting of Milan Andráš, Dušan Kočlík, Pavel Nahálka and Adam Tóth received an honorable mention in the prestigious international competition International Design Award IDA 22.
